If a channel knob on your DDJ has gone scratchy, drops out when you touch it, or turns with a crunch, the potentiometer behind the knob has worn out. This is the replacement part for the RCA-style pots Pioneer used across the DDJ-RX, SX, SX2, SX3 and SR – part number 418-S1-694.
Two versions – pick the right one
- With centre detent – the shaft clicks into a notch at 12 o’clock. This is the type used for EQ (high / mid / low), where you need to find the neutral position by feel.
- Without detent – smooth rotation all the way through, no notch. Used for gain and master volume, where a centre point would be wrong.
Fit the wrong one and the knob will either click where it should not, or lose the centre point you rely on during a mix – so check which control you are replacing before ordering.

Fitting notes
This is a solder-in part, not a plug-in module. Open the unit, note the pin order, desolder the old pot and clean the pads before fitting the new one. Do not overheat the legs – the carbon track inside is easy to damage. The knob cap is reused: pull it straight off the old shaft and press it onto the new one.
Packs and pricing
- Single – $28
- 2-pack – $35 (save $21 vs two singles)
- 3-pack – $40 (save $44 vs three singles)
Most people replace one worn knob, then find a second one on the same deck has started to go as well. The extra pots cost very little to add to the same parcel – the courier is the expensive part, which is why the 2- and 3-packs work out so much cheaper per unit. Both types can be mixed in one order: add the quantities you need and we ship them together.
FAQ
Do I get the knob cap as well?
No – this listing is the potentiometer only. The original knob pushes back on.
How do I tell which type I have?
Turn the knob slowly: if it clicks into a notch halfway, it is the detent version. Gain and master are normally smooth.
Is the value critical?
Yes. Fitting a different taper changes how the control responds across its travel, even if it physically fits.
