A scratch mixer takes more physical abuse than almost anything else on the booth: crossfader cuts, wrist drags, beer, and the occasional flight case lid. The metal faceplate on the DJM-S9 is the part that collects all of it – and once the finish is gone, the whole mixer looks tired even if it works perfectly.

What you get
One metal faceplate. Faders, knobs, caps and screws are transferred from your existing mixer.
Fitting notes
Unplug the mixer before opening it. Remove the fader caps and knobs, undo the faceplate screws, and lift the plate away carefully – the crossfader area sits close to the board. Transfer the hardware to the new plate and tighten the screws evenly, working around the panel rather than in one corner, so the plate sits flat. Allow 30-60 minutes.
FAQ
Does the faceplate include the crossfader?
No – it is the metal plate only. Your existing fader, including an aftermarket one, stays on the mixer.
Is the finish the same as the original?
It is a brushed metal plate (non-magnetic) finished to match the original look; slight variation in the brushing between batches is normal.
Can I fit it without removing the faders?
The fader caps have to come off, but the fader bodies stay in place.
What is the difference between a faceplate and a panel?
The words describe the same part here: a DJM-S9 faceplate is the flat plate that sits over the top of the unit. Panel, faceplate and top plate are all used for it.
