A 6.5 mm (1/4 inch) TRS cable for mixers, amps, powered speakers, microphones and guitars – male jack at both ends. Built as an installation-grade cable rather than a thin patch lead, which matters once you go past a few metres.
What is inside
- Oxygen-free copper conductors, thickened rather than the thin strand count used in cheap leads
- Dual core (stereo / balanced TRS wiring)
- Spiral shield plus foil screen – the two layers reject the hum that long unbalanced runs pick up
- Cotton tensile cord so the conductors take the strain, not the solder joints
- PVC jacket, flexible but tough enough for stage use
- Gold-plated connectors in a metal shell, with a knurled grip
Read this before ordering
This is a 6.5 mm to 6.5 mm cable. Both ends need a 6.5 mm socket – mixer outputs, amp inputs, powered speakers, guitar amps, interfaces. It will not plug into a 3.5 mm headphone jack on a laptop or phone; for that you need a 3.5 mm to 6.5 mm lead or an adapter.
Lengths
Available from 0.75 m up to 15 m. Short lengths suit patching between units on the same desk; the longer lengths are for larger desks and small installs. Custom lengths can be made – message us with what you need.
FAQ
Is it balanced or unbalanced?
It is wired as a stereo TRS (tip-ring-sleeve) cable. Whether the run behaves as balanced depends on the equipment at each end.
Will it hum on long runs?
The double shield is there to keep that down, but any unbalanced run over about 10 m picks up more noise than a balanced one – keep signal cables away from mains cable where you can.
Can I get a different length?
Yes – message us with the length and we will quote it.
